Hey there, my name is Linda  and I’m a blogger and NLP practitioner who specialises in teaching people about how to raise their awareness of themselves and also of the world around them, and, yes, I do believe in the Law of Attraction and I do believe that it is possible to manifest the things you want in life.

On this blog, you will find a wide variety of content, information and tips, to help you along your personal growth and development path, including the free ebook, ‘How Your Sub-Conscious Mind Works’, which you can download from the home page by opting in.

Now I would like to tell you a little bit about me :)

One of the most common questions I get asked is how I came to be doing what I’m doing – how I came to be blogging about such subjects as manifestation and the sub-conscious and even how I came to be interested in such things.

Did I watch ‘The Secret’ one day and it all started happening, just like the dude who said he stopped getting bills in the mail and now just gets checks. Hah! I wish.

Actually, the beginning of this story is not really that positive. It actually starts with an incident where I was almost kidnapped and it was during this incident that I heard a voice talking to me and telling me, as clear as day, that I had to get right away from the road as quickly as possible because I was in danger. I later found out that the same man had been imprisoned for firearm abuse so the event could have ended a whole lot worse.
Years later I spoke to another woman who had had a similar experience and she told me that she had heard the same voice. I was intrigued. I spoke to a therapist about it and did some of my own research and concluded that on some level, my sub-conscious mind had sensed danger and had issued a warning to my conscious mind to protect me. I have long since recovered from the incident but it made me want to find out exactly what was speaking to me that night.
My questioning and research led me to discover that as the creator of your body, your sub-conscious is also the thing that protects it and that may come in many forms; the healing of a cut, for example, is a process of the sub-conscious, as is the digestion of food and the development of your body from childhood. Your mind can make you healthy after an illness and it can also send messages to your conscious mind when it senses that the body it created is in danger. In other words, it looks after you.
It sounds hard to believe but I and at least one other person I knew of had experienced this strange phenomenon first hand so I started to believe. Then I wondered about the other things my sub-conscious could do for me and started to research the topic even more.
And then the film ‘The Secret’ and the whole concept of manifesting came along. I wanted so badly to believe in it but try as I might, I just couldn’t seem to make things happen. I was in my thirties, unhappy with my career, desperate to work for myself, especially as a writer and achieve financial freedom, keen to lose weight, and seriously in need of some lovin’.
What to do? I became somewhat despondant for some time and began to lose faith in the power of my sub-conscious. And I was no closer to getting those things I really desired. There was nothing really wrong but I was basically drifting.
I don’t actually remember how this interest came back – from browsing the internet, I think. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably used to taking in too much information and getting confused. But then again, out of the blue, the idea came to me – belief. I was used to the concept of thought producing what you want but I had never really questioned how deeply, or whether I even really believed in what I was doing. Mmmmm – this could be the magic ingredient I was looking for…
Now here’s the thing – thoughts are easy, we have millions of these every day. Beliefs – well that’s another story. Actually, beliefs are just thoughts but they are a lot more potent. We choose what we believe in and this gives them a lot more power over our sub-conscious.
Once I started to really accept this and try to put it into practise, then things started to change – in a small way at first, but then things started to get easier. I was contacted by a travel magazine photographer, who found my profile on the internet, and decided he wanted to work with me as an Istanbul correspondent (and I had never even heard of the magazine before this), then other writing and editing jobs started to trickle in; I was surprised to find more money in my bank account after my boss decided to give me a significant payrise for no real reason at all (far from being the financial freedom I was dreaming of but a small start); I discovered pilates and by doing a mere two sessions a week, my weight began to drop significantly and I started getting compliments everywhere I went  by barely doing anything; and attractive, interesting men began to turn up in places, several of them turning up at my house. And all of these things started happening with no effort on my behalf.
I’m not saying that this process is easy. Manifesting can be done but you have be, as my meditation teacher says, on a high vibrational level before anything can be achieved. Affirmations are great but they are not enough. To get even these relatively small changes, I attended weekly therapy and completed a meditiation course which led me to practise daily meditations.
If you are serious about making changes then your whole belief system must change and all of your beliefs must become aligned with that of the higher good. This means that your beliefs must be aligned with health, wealth, love, prosperity and success. And you sub-conscious mind will support you in this endeavour. For me, personally, this meant therapy and meditation to clear out all of the junk that had embedded itself in my mind – and there was a lot of it, most of which is probably still floating around in there.
Changing your beliefs is work, but it can be done and my work here is to help you to do it.
Well, I have built up a successful internet business which allows me to work as little or as much as I want, but being me, I love the work so it’s no problem . It was my dream and now it’s real. I travel regularly between Turkey, Australia and other places visiting family and meeting interesting people along the way.

I have become an NLP practitioner and this has provided me with a lot of insight about myself and other people and I am pleased to say that I am now able to help others to understand, motivate and believe in themselves.

Aside from blogging, I am a strong believer in meditiation and try to practise daily and I am very keen on pilates and try to practise that about three times a week. One of my dreams is to open a meditation studio in Istanbul. Let’s see how that goes. I also write on a freelance basis about Istanbul and have another blog with a mostly expat following but it is growing in popularity every week. I’m a very avid reader and I particularly enjoy reading about consciousness, health, internet marketing, self-development and philosophy.

And did I mention I am a big cat lover ? I live with two zen masters, both of them cats, who give me hours of pleasure and fill the house with great energy.

I really wish all of you all the best out there and hope that your journey is as successful as mine has been.
Yours

Linda
