Beliefs are stubborn things. While we may have only taken a short time to form them, we have probably re-inforced them over years, or in some instances, a whole lifetime. You would think, then, that the process of changing them would be a long and arduous one which may be accompanied by some sort of painful separation anxiety. But actually, because a belief is really only a thought, it is possible to change them and change them quite quickly.
I was listening to Allan Tutt’s ‘Choose To Believe’ recordings the other day and was amazed at how quickly I was able to change a belief, or at least increase my ability to believe in something I was previously quite apprehensive about.
How did I do it?
Basically, Allan led us through an exercise called ‘Pacing and Leading’, which involves taking a statement like ‘I am lucky’ and leading into it by firstly saying a bunch of other statements, which you believe to be 100% true. So think of some 100% true statements like
‘My name is John’ and say it with the words ‘I believe’ in front of the statement, so it becomes ‘I believe my name is John’, then repeat with things like:
· ‘I believe my hair is brown.’
· ‘I believe I live in London.’
· ‘I believe that there are seven days in a week.’
Then, say the main statement (the one you want to believe is true) straight after it while your mind is in 100% belief mode. If you do this repeatedly, your sub-conscious mind will be more ready to accept the statement and you will see more luck in your life.
Pretty nifty huh? I have been sitting here all morning practising. I’ll keep you posted with the results. You can also check out my other articles, ‘More Stuff About Beliefs’ and ‘Can I Choose What I Believe In?’
This is just one of the many fantastic tips you can find in Allan’s ‘Choose to Believe’ series, so I suggest you check it out yourself. You can click here to access his first set of recordings for free.
