Is Subliminal Messaging A Type Of Hypnosis?

These days more and more people are choosing subliminal messaging as a means to break a habit, improve their health, study better, change their attitudes or to create wealth and abundance and are seeing excellent results.

Subliminal messaging works by sending messages beyond the limit of human perception. This means that you will not consciously hear a subliminal message, however, it will be picked up by your mind on an unconscious level. The growth in popularity of subliminal messages can be attributed to the fact that for very little effort on your part, it is possible to receive fantastic benefits.

You are probably already aware that your mind encounters a huge volume of messages every day, so many in fact that it is not possible for us to process all the information. What your conscious mind deems to be useless information, it rejects but this information is still picked up by your sub-conscious. So, even “background” information finds its way into your mind.

As this unmonitored information enters your brain, it joins other sub-conscious thoughts which form the basis of patterns, habits, and behavior, most of which we are not aware of and, in many cases, can’t control. Subliminal Messaging uses the same principle, however, instead of processing random information from your daily environment you can choose what to feed your sub-conscious and change these patterns, behaviours and habits, without even being aware of the changes that are taking place!

One of the most frequently asked questions regarding subliminal messaging is whether or not subliminal messaging is a form of hypnosis.

While it could be said that subliminal messaging and hypnosis are very similar and produce similar results, it must be clarified that subliminal messaging is not a form of hypnosis. It is true that they both allow you to access your sub-conscious mind, by bypassing your conscious mind and therefore preventing the logical part of the brain from negating any positive messages that you send it. In this way, they can both be used as a way to help you to break some bad habits or improve your thinking without interference. The differerence is that subliminal messaging will not put you into a deep trance state. Therefore you have total control over how big the changes are, whether the process is a gradual or fast one and when and where the messaging takes place.

So although hypnosis is very powerful, and often requires just one or a few sessions with a professional hypnotist to change your thinking patterns, these sessions are very expensive and you may require a few ‘training’ sessions in order to be fully ready for the hypnosis session. Virtually the same result can be achieved with the use of subliminal messaging but the subliminal CD or MP3, which can be obtained by downloading from the internet, must be played regularly and, of course, the results will take longer to see.

When undergoing hypnosis you will be able to hear commands from the practitioner, whereas with subliminal messaging, you won’t be able to hear the suggestion, which means that subliminal CDs can be used while relaxing, or doing everyday activities.

In short, subliminal messaging could be considered a “light” form of hypnosis, which doesn’t require any trips to a hypnotist. The results take longer to achieve but the subliminal CD’s or MP3’s can be used at your convenience, without any disruption to your day. Actually, no method is better than the other. Which one you choose depends on your beliefs, circumstances, what you want to achieve, and your personal preferences.

But I will say this, whether your problem is smoking, being overweight or shyness, there is no easier method than subliminal messaging to help you to overcome it.
