The Law of Your Mind is the Law of Belief

The Law of Beliefs

Does anyone out there know just a how beautiful a city Istanbul is, especially during Ramazan? If you’ve never been here during Ramazan, then you are definitely missing out.

I just took a walk down to my local town centre which is an old part of the city called Uskudar. I suppose you could say it is one of the more conservative parts of the city, which can be a hassle sometimes but during Ramazan time, it’s a bonus because everyone kind of gathers together to break their fast in the twilight hours. You can see young and old, families, friends and couples or people on their own sharing tables and breaking fast.

And then there is prayer, which when I experienced it for the first time, really raised my vibration. And I’m not even a muslim.

Now, I’m not a particularly religious person in the traditional sense BUT I’m a big believer in the power of faith, be it religious faith or some other type of faith (belief in God, self-belief – it’s all belief!). And as it’s the season for many people in the world, I thought I would dedicate this next post to religious beliefs.

If you, like me, are not a traditional believer, just bear with me because there is a message here.

If you have been reading my other posts, you’ll realise that I’m a strong believer of the power of beliefs. Why? It’s because of this one principle

The Law of Your Mind is the Law of Belief

Let me explain to you how that works. Beliefs are just thoughts which you have accumulated over time as a result of the experiences and events in your life. But when you are looking for results, it is not the belief in something that produces it but rather the belief in your own mind that will produce it. In other words, do not be sucked in by the lies and propaganda that surround us and aim to make us conform to society norms. Instead start to believe in eternal truths.

This is where religion can be of great service to mankind.

Here’s an example: In the Bible under MATTHEW 7:7, it says:

‘Ask and it shall be given to you; seek,
and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you’.

This is one of the most often-quoted sections of the bible and if you are religious, then you probably understand that this means that God will give you what you ask for, provided you believe in him/her. But does this also sound a lot like one of the universal laws such the law of attraction? Is Matthew 7:7 really trying to tell us that we should believe in an infinite wisdom which can grant wishes and that there is a connection between mind and spirit?

What Is Prayer?

Everybody is familiar with the concept of prayer. Many of us do it and we may even feel that our prayers have been
answered. But how many of you really know what you are really doing when you are engaged in prayer?

Now, I want to make one thing absolutely clear. It is not my intention to discredit religion or this traditional notion of prayer. Instead, I would like to propose an alternative to the traditional notion of prayer and that is that prayer is a way of bringing about a harmonious interaction of the conscious and sub-conscious mind for a specific purpose.

When a believer (and when I say believer, I mean a person who really has faith in God, not someone who says they believe), prays and their conviction that God is listening is strong enough, then they are in a state of mental receptiveness, which is essential for bringing you into alignment with what you want. This is what gives a prayer power. An ‘answered’ prayer is just a realisation of a desire. So you can say what you want about blind faith but it actually works.

Belief plus receptiveness is a very powerful combination and raises the vibration of the person who is engaging in at at the time.

So I’m guessing that the reason I feel so good around Ramazan time is that I’m feeling the vibration of people engaged in prayer. And even if you are not a believer, this is a really powerful feeling. So much so that I have even started going into my local mosque for a bit of quiet time.  Some people think I’m crazy but it’s a great place to engage in positive thoughts.

So on that note, I can hear the call to prayer telling me it’s time to go to bed.

See you in the next post.
